A Python and Flask project built around the gift card exchange (GCX) subreddit. This web app attempts to establish a price (expressed as cents on the dollar) for commonly traded gift cards like those for popular retailers Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Starbucks and others. It does this by scraping the GCX subreddit for recent exchanges.
Inspired by the Waffle House Index, this Python and Flask project attempts to ‘predict’ the severity of an upcoming weather event based on the availability (or lack thereof) of common grocery staples like bread, milk, and eggs in a given area.
Another subreddit inspired project (and yet again using Python and Flask), this web app was built to test the theory that by doing the opposite of the consensus on the ‘wallstreetbets’ subreddit, you could make money in the US stock market.
